New Haircuts for Everyone!

IMG_7103Everyone got haircuts today … Annie’s hair is layered and straightened (she wants a new straightening iron now) … Molly got her pixie cut a little shorter … and Zoe got a short hair cut!  I should have measured how much hair got cut off, but it was about 6″.

Happy Birthday, Zoe!

Zoe wanted a rainbow unicorn cake.  My secret method is revealed on SmugMug

We celebrated by bringing our gluten free cake to the weekly homeschool indoor skate & play, and Zoe roller skated for the first time!

Jumping at G6

We have been going to G6 Airpark in Vancouver, Washington for several months.  It is great fun and great exercise!  Even Mama jumps sometimes.

I love how Zoe looks like she is levitating.  Lots more jumping photos on SmugMug …

The Polar Express

IMG_6784We finally did it!  They punched the golden tickets, Santa gave us bells, we had hot chocolate, and they read the book.

This picture is Zoe patiently waiting for the train.  More pictures are on SmugMug

Apple Cider!

It was a REALLY rainy day.  Molly and Zoe slept on the way to Helen’s house:

Pretty leaves:

We joined Helen, Lee, Dave, Sally, and a few of their closest friends, including some kids and some dogs to juice a few apples:

The grinder was electric, but the presser was manual labor:

The pressed juice was strained:

The results were bottled at a rate of about half a gallon a minute.  There were lots and lots and lots of empty bottles:

This is what was left of the apples:

The kids mainly played while the apples were being pressed:

Fresh apple cider is the absolute best thing in the universe!  (ok, there might be better stuff out there, but this is pretty awesome!)

End of the day … my feet hurt, but I am very thankful for rain boots:
